Mobile World Congress 2013

Bon ambient i bona companyia.

Aquest any, no hem presentat Biapum, ja ho vam fer l'any passat (veure aquí).

Mobile World Congress 2013 en català

4th day at Mobile World Congress 2012

Today was the 4th and last day at the Mobile World Congress. By the way, the last day is the less important but not for me in this case. It has been an incredible journey!

In the morning, when I arrived, I came directly to the Applanet at the Wipjam developer conference.

The conference was animated and correct but at 11:00 I had to go with my mate Quique to the apps4bcn speak. It was great, they presented a new good initiative to promote apps for Barcelona. There is no economic revenue at the end but you have the Barcelona brand support if you win. The price will be given 1 year from here. Maybe I think something to do, integrated with the F.C. Barcelona apps opportunity.

After that, I have been speaking with some good people. I met Jordi Taberener who is starting a new adventure in Niuladigital, somebody of the Catdroid group and Santi Ristol from Tempos21
Then, I went downstairs, where the Catalan companies where allocated. I visit all of them. I was speaking with BDigital, who allows me some months ago make a good speaking at Spurna center in Girona. Also, I could meet a good Catalan company, Sixtemia, speaking and having a good time with one of his founders, Josep Ma Teixidor. Is always nice to meet people that you only know him by Twitter or by other people.

After that, I came back to the WipJam conference. I met there the ING people, which I was having dinner yesterday because of the app for him we developed at Ideaknow.

I was waiting for the Barcelona Gtug (Google Technology Users Group) time and I can take some T-shirts and merchandising of the sponsors! Thank you!

At the GTUG conference, they organized a Barcamp. Some good proposals has been made.
Firstly, somebody explains about developing apps for Blackberry with Android. Then somebody explains an experiment mixing Android and Arduino.

Then the topic was Startups. First, one boy starts explaining his case and then.. was the turn of BIAPUM!
I came to the stage and I started to present Biapum to all the attendants. It has been amazing, I have made an informal presentation with my iPad and showed some of my projects. Also, I explained how I got financing and answer some questions. It has been soo interesting and an honor to present my brand at the Mobile World Congress. I am proud about it.

Thanks Roger for the photos with your new Blackberry playbook. ;)
And specially thank to the Barcelona GTUG team, Oriol Blanc, Fernando Cejas, Israel Ferrer and Fernando Garcia, and all the people who bote me, to give me this unique opportunity.

After that, I came back to the other room where give the price of the hackaton party. The hackaton was about some API which they open.

In the draw, my friend Alejandro got a Galaxy tab tablet. He was so lucky!

This was the end of the Mobile World Congress. Good feeling with the Biapum presentation and starts the countdown for the Mobile World Congress 2013!

 Thanks ;)

3th day at Mobile World Congress 2012

Today I've been to the Mobile World Congress for my first day.
I arrived around 9.30 in the morning and I met my friend and old coworker Fernando Cejas at the entrance.

I went directly to the IntelUp app Conference where I met the other Ideaknow Coworkers.
The conference was great. I don't really like HTML5 and I am no a good developer with Javascript but the conference was introductive and great.

At the break, I went to have a walk and was nice to meet Albert Nadal go around. We have been talking and he came with us to the second part of the Intel DevUp conference wich was about HTML5 best practices. It has been good.

After that I had got a short meeting with Albert Fabregat to introduce our self and explain our things.
Then I came to meet my brother Gil Freixanet. He was there to record with his camera Sandro Rosell, the F.C. Barcelona president, who made a speak there.

Then I have been around the Applanet, where the catalan companies stands were. I met my old company Mobivery with the stand presenting the project Malcom which I was working in.
Then I met an interesting company called Inqbarna, situated at Barcelona Activa. I was talking with David, one of his founder and developer. Nice met.
Also, I was at the SlashMobility stand talking with Emilio, nice met too.

After, I went around and when I was to the Android Stand, I got good Android toys!

Going around also I got to nice t-shirts. One from Angry Birds and the other from Foursquare, the Mobile World Congress Official t-shirt.

2nd day at Mobile World Congress 2012

Today I have been to the Mobile World Congress 2012 for my second day, and was as amazing as yesterday.
In the Morning I attended to the Samsung Developer Day at the Applanet. The Applanet is where all the developers conference have been done.

The Samsung Developer Conference was better than the Nokia which I was yesterday. When I arrived, there was a lot of queue again, but as yesterday, because I have my registration, I could access directly inside.
There I met my old coworker and friend Albert nice to see him again.
The conference have been correctly. The first part, was for developers. Samsung,  present a lot of things. for exemple, they show a new pen to interact whit the Samsung mobiles, as the new Samsung galaxy note.
The curious was when they showed a new Android app for Samsung which allows you to share fotos as a post cards and the app crashed at the demo. As I always say in Catalan, "Android peta", which it means, Android Crash.

The second part was a little more comercial.

After it, I went around and I would like to highlight 2 things:

1- The futur of the NFC technology. For exemple, as you can see in the video, I saw an app which allows you to start your motorbike using your mobile with the NFC technology. I think this is the futur! I hope the iPhone 5 use NFC.

2- See a new demo of the Qualcomm Augmented Reality Library. I have tried this library to make some iOS demos and I think it has improved. It is amazing!

Having a walk, I came back to the Android Stand I could take an ice cream sandwich, cool!

For the end, I attended to the Blackberry Developer Day, at the developers conference. It was the best conference. At the end, they give to every body free Blackberry Playbooks tablets.

It has been a good day. Tomorrow more.

1st day at Mobile World Congress 2012

Today I have been at the first day of Mobile World Congress 2012 in Barcelona, and
as the last year, been there is an amazing experience for a mobile developer.
I arrived there about 9.00h an I have been walking around the halls.
Firstly, I went to the Android world, incredible!

I have been there meeting another Android developers and having fun. As the last year I have been to the Android slide, as if I was a 10 years old boy.. look at the photo!

After that, I went to the hall 2 to the Windows Phone zone because my friend Fernando told me that there I could win a price.
The rate consist in beat a Windows Phone mobile making a task with my mobile phone. I accepted it because the price to win was 100 euros!
I had to make a tweet and a Facebook post saying "hi" with my iPhone 4S faster than the Windows Phone. I tried and I was the first to be faster than a Windows Phone, so I got the price! Look at here:

After that, my friend Enrique also got it. He had to post a foto to the Google+.
Then, I went to the Nokia Conference. I got my invitation and I was lucky because there was a lot of queue. Look at here:

The conference was really really boring! It was not a developers conference. Nokia only explained news partnerships and not technical things. Everybody thought the same and it was a pity to see all the devs bored and wasting time. We all wait the end of the conference because Nokia draw a Mobile. Me an my friends had not been lucky. Was great to see my old coworkers friends from Mobivery.
After eating something, we spent the rest of the time going around and also I came back to Android Zone to take some good picture.

Finally, I spent the last time at the mobile with my Ideaknow friends taking some free beers and enjoying the waterfall and music light show. Barcelona is a really nice city..

So, it was a great day and I have been lucky to got my free Mobile World Congress pass for Biapum. Tomorrow more and better! I will tell you!

Thanks for read and please, give me some comments.. ;)

PD: Here is all the presents I got it! woooooooow!
